ALCATEL SUBMARINE NETWORKS renews its trust in Louis Dreyfus Armateurs for two new cable ships
The Louis Dreyfus Armateurs group is proud to meet the growing needs of its client Alcatel Submarine Networks (ASN) through the transformation of two new cable ships recently acquired by ASN: Ile de Molène and Ile d´Yeu.
The cable ship “Ile de Molène” will enable Alcatel Submarine Networks to maintain telecommunications cables in the Atlantic and the North Sea from the first half of 2022 on.
The cable ship "Ile d'Yeu" will be used for laying cables and will participate in the installation of a transoceanic telecommunications system from the end of 2022.
As with the current cable fleet, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs will manage the Ile d’Yeu and Ile de Molène ships under the French flag.
In less than 18 months, Louis Dreyfus Armateurs will mobilize the cable equipment necessary to allow rapid commissioning. This ambitious project proves the group’s know-how in terms of engineering, naval architecture and expertise for equipment intended for cable operators. Louis Dreyfus Armateurs will thus offer his customer the level of technical expertise necessary to meet the requirements of telecommunications operators and GAFAMs.
At the end of 2022, the Alcatel Submarine Networks cable fleet managed by Louis Dreyfus Armateurs will be increased to 7 vessels with 5 installation vessels : Ile de Sein, Ile de Batz, Ile de Bréhat, Ile d'Aix and Ile d 'Yeu and 2 maintenance vessels : Ile d'Ouessant and Ile de Molène.
The growth of the fleet and its modernization bear witness to the fruitful cooperative relationship that Alcatel Submarine Networks and Louis Dreyfus Armateurs have built over the years.
